Description
This design is based on a pair of pockets that is part of the Winterthur Museum Collection**. It dates to 1750-1775, and is similar in style to many pockets from this era.
The originals are embroidered with wool and silk thread on plain weave linen fabric. The majority of the design is worked in tambour embroidery, with a few detail added in traditional embroidery. Most of the tambour sections are outlined with one color then filled in with concentric rows of one or more additional colors. This creates soft gradients throughout the design.
A limited number of supply kits for this pattern are available in the shop, in both “spring” and “autumn” colorways.
You will receive a detailed PDF containing historical notes, tips for transferring your pattern, the embroidery design, and reversed design, supply list, color chart, and sewing instructions.
Finished size: Each pocket measures approximately 13.74” x 8.25”.
