Embroidery Giveaway – 1910s Camisole Bundle

April marks the start of a new sew-along, and this time I’m teaming up with Lauren of Wearing History. The project is an embroidered camisole or blouse, using the design we collaborated on a couple years ago.  So for this month’s giveaway, I’m offering a copy of both the Wearing History e-pattern plus your choice of the hand or machine embroidery design. I really love this pattern because it’s based on historical sources, so it’s 100% period correct, yet it’s adorable as a modern top or blouse. Plus, it’s very versatile. You can choose to add sleeves or a peplum, do single or multi-colored embroidery, stitch eyelets or add beading lace* and silk ribbons*. Mix and match to create your dream blouse.

We’d love to have you join the sew-along. It’s always so much fun to see how different your projects turn out, even when using the same base patterns. Lauren and I will be available to answer questions about the embroidery and construction, so you’ll have a helping hand every step of the way.  All you need to do is come join the Sew-Along Facebook group and start planning your project.

Lauren and I are so excited about this sew-along, that we’re offering 20% off the camisole bundle and the embroidery designs. If you’re eager to get started right away, I’ll refund your purchase price if you win the giveaway.

What would you make with this pattern bundle? Would you make some new Edwardian undies, or a fun summer top? Tone-on-tone embroidery, or a bright pop of color? I’m thinking I’ll go with bright colors, sleeves, and a peplum so I have something pretty to wear this summer. I’d love to hear your ideas in the comments.

Enter below to win 1 copy of either the machine or hand embroidery design and PDF download of instructions plus the Wearing History Pattern. If you have purchased the bundle previously from Romantic Recollections, your purchase price will be refunded. This giveaway is only open to those in the United States.

  • I would likely use dark fabric with a pastel embroidery thread such as violet – lavender or navy- cornflower blue contrast.

    • That sounds beautiful! I’m testing out some colors on black to see if I want to take that path myself.

  • Pretty Embroidery

  • Beautiful designs! I think I would probably end up doing white on white as a period undergarment, but I also like the idea of black-on-black for outerwear! 🙂

    • I think black on black could be lovely – understated but pretty.

  • Im not sure what colors I would do, but I’m thinking maybe pale pink embroidery on a white camisole!

  • I actually have a1910 camisole my great gran wore! Would love to recreate it to wear!

    • That sounds like a wonderful project! Do you have pictures of the original?

  • I had never considered using a cami pattern as a blouse! I’m thinking sleeves and peplum for sure but no ideas on color.

    • I hadn’t either, until I saw Lauren’s bright floral version. It’s amazing how a little color can turn something from vintage to more modern!

  • For my period undergarment, I’d like to do white with a nice pale pink so it’s very feminine!

  • I’d probably make this a tone-on-tone white undergarment.

  • I’m really into greys.. so I’m thinking a dark grey cami with maybe a yellow for the pocket.. or a dark purple..
