This is for an embroidered mid-18th c. ladies fichu embroidered with a waving border of vines with leaves and flowers, edged with delicate scallops. There is a small floral spray placed in the corner of the fichu, just above the border.  It is machine embroidered in cotton thread on cotton lawn fabric.

This design for muslin embroidery was originally published in the June 1826 edition of Ackermann’s Repository of Arts, Literature, Commerce, Manufactures, Fashions and Politics, as seen in the last image.
