Online Embroidery Classes from Romantic Recollections

I’ve had the great pleasure of teaching at Costume College for the last three years, and I’ve also written embroidery history articles for Your Wardrobe Unlock’d. I love helping people on their embroidery journey, and wanted to find a way to connect with students who aren’t part of these two communities. With that in mind, I have developed a range of online embroidery courses focused on machine embroidery techniques and embroidery history.

Are you intrigued by machine embroidery but don’t know where to start? Do you already have an embroidery machine, but are afraid to take it out of the box? In my free class on “Getting Started with Machine Embroidery” I’ll share some tools and tricks to help get you going. We’ll talk about what to look for in a machine, the best stabilizers for your projects, thread options, finding designs, and more.

Perhaps you’re ready to move on to digitizing your own designs. “Demystifying Digitizing” walks you through the basics of going from a picture of a design to a file that is ready to stitch out on your machine. We’ll cover software programs, how to edit designs, and how to avoid common errors.

I also offer classes about embroidery history and techniques, such as an overview of historic embroidery styles on clothing from 1500-1950,  and a deep dive into the identification of styles of whitework embroidery in the 1800s.

With every class, you have access to the instructor with the built-in comment functions. As well, you can join the exclusive Facebook group for embroidery students to share ideas and questions with a larger community.

I hope you find these online embroidery classes to be helpful, and I look forward to seeing you in the classroom.
