2016 Design Poll – Early Results

First off, thank you to everyone who has voted in the poll so far – I really appreciate your input! I’ve added several of your suggestions to the poll, so that others have the chance to vote on them, as well. They are great suggestions, so keep them coming.

I have to admit that so far I’m a bit surprised by the results, and I’m glad I asked. I expected more requests for other time periods and thought maybe you were bored by borders, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Borders are one of the top votes, and most of the choices are predominantly 18th century and Regency embroidery.

I’ve already been focusing on those areas, so it’s good to know that’s what you want. Borders will definitely be on the schedule for 2016, since they are relatively easy (don’t need me to create a pattern) and versatile. I’d like to expand beyond the ones in Ackermann’s, and am looking at other publications from the 1700s and 1800s. If you see designs you like, I’m always open to suggestions.

However, I’ve also heard quite a few comments this year from people who have never matched up a border before and are nervous about trying it. How many of you fall into this category, and how can I help?

I have some tutorials on the blog, but are there other questions I can answer? Would you like a class? Maybe something else? Please let me know in the comments.

I’ll be leaving the poll up until the end of the week, in case you haven’t voted yet. I’ll share the results next week, including a list of which projects I plan to release next year.
